Game Night MOVED!

Important!- We had to change locations, now we're at Wedge at Foundation

This year we're kicking off the Drupal Camp Asheville weekend with a game night! We'll provide family friendly drinks & snacks.

We will have board games, but you're encouraged to bring your favorite! We recommend games that are easy to learn and short to play for maximum enjoyment.

In addition to board games, there will be a Magic the Gathering draft.

Magic Draft - Conspiracy: Take the Crown

Through dubious means we have acquired an unopened box of Conspiracy: Take the Crown and we want to draft it with our Drupal friends!

If you're unfamiliar with drafting, it is a way to play Magic where you build your deck by opening packs. It's a great way to play, and doesn't require you own any cards. Note: Magic is a complicated game and we highly recommend be familiar with the basic rules to play in the draft. If you are interested in learning how to play, we recommend playing the tutorials in the computer version Magic Arena.

To participate in the draft, you must signup using the linked form below. It's important that you're at the Crowne Plaza at 7:00pm, we'll start drafting at 7:30pm sharp!.

Join us for pizza at Standard Pizza Co. on Biltmore Avenue. It’s a great time to meet people and network over games of ping-pong, foosball, and more!

Friday July 12th, at 6:00pm

On Saturday July 13th, 2019 at 6:00pm we'll meet up for some tacos, nachos, and casual post-camp hanging outs. From there, the night is our oyster. There's no telling what nonsense this crew will get into, but it's guaranteed to be memorable!

Come join your new Drupal friends on a hike to Catawba Falls. This awesome 3-mile out-and-back hiking adventure features old dams, creek crossings, newly built footbridges, and waterfalls. Detailed description, photos, and historical info.

How hard is this hike?

Super easy! This is a beautiful, gently sloped trail that is very accessible, and perfect for kids and family! The major water crossings have bridges, and you won't need waterproof boots to traverse the minor creeks that flow across a couple spots on the trail.

For the hard-core seasoned hiking vets, there is another waterfall further up the river, but that trail is extremely technical and can be very dangerous. Attempt at your own risk.

How do I get there?

We will meet at The Dripolator Coffeehouse in Black Mountain between 10 - 10:30 am to get caffeinated and convoy over to the trailhead.

Here are some alternative directions in case the interwebs fail you.

• Head East on I-40 to Exit 73 for Old Fort.
• Immediately after exiting the interstate, hang a hard right onto Catawba River Road.
• It is a 2-lane road that ends at the parking area for the hike, so drive until you can't drive anymore.

What should I bring?

A great attitude, a Drupal shirt (if you have one) for a photo, a camera, some water and any snacks or lunch you want to eat. If you want to go swimming, bring a swimming suit and a towel!

A quick note for pet owners: This is a pet-friendly area, but local laws require your pet be on a leash. This hike can get busy sometimes, so keep that in mind when considering bringing your animals!
